Aussie Sheilas and Blokes July 2011 Dinner

On 26 July, over 20 Aussie Sheilas and Blokes gathered at the new Brew Bar & Burger Joint in Zhujiang New Town. It was a "bloody scorcher" as the Aussies would say but a good night was had by all.

It was good to see former GZ resident Mark Hardy in town, fresh off the back of his proposal to Cheryl. We also had some new members along including James from Kensington in Sydney (pictured middle left) who is working in Shenzhen.

Our May dinner was held at Aqua Cotta Italian Restaurant and as always the food was delicious. Thank you to the girls from the boomerang bakery, they brought along some of the new wines in their range for us to taste test. Also, a big thank you from me for the lovely flowers, amazing champagne, red wine and the beautiful messages in my card as my send off from the Aussie Sheilas and Blokes, it has been my great pleasure to see this group get together each month as we explore the many great restaurants around town. My family and I are moving to Beijing, but the group will continue with the new Aussie Sheila - Marlo. All the best. Jody

Aussie Sheilas April 2011 Lunch

The Sheilas enjoyed lunch at the Australian Boomerang Bakery, where there were lots of yummy treats, the wine flowed well into the afternoon and the ladies got to stock up on some bakery goods to take home as well.

March Dinner we enjoyed an Indonesian banquet at Pandan Restaurant. We had 26 people come along and it was a fun night, remember to mark the diary, 29th April next Sheilas Lunch, and 24th May for the Sheilas and Blokes Dinner.

BlueScope Butler Melbourne Cup Luncheon 2010

To mark the 150th anniversary of the Melbourne Cup, the first official Melbourne Cup function was held at the Ritz Carlton. Aussie Sheilas October 2010 Lunch at Aqua Cotta

Friday, 22nd October we had a wonderful meal at the new restaurant Aqua Cotta owned by Aussie Michael Said. The restaurant is located on BinJiang Dong Lu, and everybody had a great day.

Tuesday, 28th September, we had a fun night at the Wunderbar, owned by Aussie Andrew from Handorf in the Adelaide Hills. There were a few sore heads the next day, but a great night was had by all.

Friday, 27th August, after the summer break it was a small gathering but an enjoyable lunch dining Alfresco at People's (near the Garden Hotel).

On Tuesday, 25th May, we had a large crowd at the new restaurant Alsace, the food and service were great, and all enjoyed a great night.

Friday, 23rd April, we were blessed with a beautiful day in Guangzhou after all the rain and grey days, so we enjoyed some alfresco dining in the warm sunshine, and had a great lunch. We had 13 ladies attend, sorry no photos available.

Tuesday, 23rd March, we had a fabulous dinner at the Grand Hyatt Buffet, we had 33 in attendance and this month we included the blokes, because we knew they might sulk if we didn't take them to the fabulous Market Cafe.

Australia Day 2010 Celebrations

On the 16th January, the Australian Community Group made up of Aussie Sheila's, Wallaby Teds, and Aust Cham organised a Family Event at Favorview. We had AFL, Tug-O-War, Thong Toss, BBQ, Meat Pies, Aussie Sheila's Bake Sale, a visit by Blinky Bill and Skippy, Cold Beer, great prizes in our multi Draw raffle including a return trip to Australia with Qantas and lots more!! Funds raised will be donated to charity. More details to come, but check out the great photos!!
